Launching a Shopify store involves more than choosing a theme and uploading products. Before a store goes live, the business needs to confirm product information, navigation, fulfilment responsibilities, customer support, and the settings that shape the buying journey.
Start with the catalog. Product titles, descriptions, images, options, variants, prices, and availability should be accurate and consistent. Collection names should use language customers understand.
Review the storefront on mobile and desktop. Check menus, search, product pages, image cropping, button contrast, and how important information appears on smaller screens.
Before launch, test the customer journey using the payment and checkout configuration available to the store. Confirm delivery zones, shipping charges, taxes where relevant, order notifications, return instructions, and customer contact details.
Publish clear policy and support information that reflects the actual business: shipping, returns, refunds, privacy, terms, and contact details. Do not copy another store's policy blindly, because products and fulfilment arrangements differ.
Set up appropriate analytics and search tools, and verify page titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, product information, and the sitemap. Tracking must be tested rather than assumed to work.
Prepare the operational side as carefully as the design. Decide who will update inventory, fulfil orders, answer customer questions, process returns, review app charges, and maintain the store after launch.
A launch checklist is not a guarantee of sales. It reduces avoidable gaps and gives the business a reliable foundation for ongoing marketing, testing, and store improvements.
